Good Afternoon,
At about 1pm today, it was discovered that our kiln was overheating. We turned off the kiln, but smoke set off the fire alarm. We evacuated the school, and everyone is safe. The smoke cleared and and there was no danger present with the power to the device turned off at the breaker. All students have returned to class. Thank you all!

Reminder: The 2nd Harvest Mobile Pantry will be in Oregon tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. Cars may line up on Madison Street, behind the school, to take advantage of this opportunity.
As a prom tux rental option, South Holt will be bringing in the company "Something Borrowed Maryville" on Thursday, February 26th at 1:30pm. Providing an option for our Prom parents.
It is Super Bowl Sunday. Every PK-12 student is involved in a Super Bowl Squares contest today. Each student is a member of a Family Pod and a Senior student in each Family Pod randomly placed their pod number in 7 different squares on the attached board.
To win the contest, one of your child's pod numbers needs to land in a square that intersects with the final digit of the Seahawks' score and the final digit of the Patriots' score at the end of any of the 4 quarters. Prizes will be awarded to the winning pods.

Tuesday night is Elementary Night at the South Holt High School basketball games. All South Holt Elementary students will have free admission into the game and receive a spirit item upon entry. We are showcasing our 3rd-6th Grade Junior Hoopsters Teams during half times of the Varsity games. Come out on Tuesday evening and cheer on the Knights!
Mobile Food Pantry Notice: There is a date change for this month's 2nd Harvest Mobile Food Pantry in Oregon, MO. This month's food drop is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 11. This food drop is available to all. Please line up on Madison Street, behind the school, to take advantage of this opportunity.
What's Up, Knights? It's been a great Court Warming Week at South Holt. The "Score's Up" on Friday. Show your school spirit by wearing the colors and logos of your favorite sports teams.
Elementary Group Pictures: There was a mix up on the dates for Elementary Group Pictures. Elementary group pictures are scheduled for Wednesday, February 25. Ordering information was sent home with the wrong date printed on the envelopes. If you already sent an order form back to school, it will be kept in the office until the actual group picture date on February 25. If you do not have an email address on file with South Holt, please make sure to contact the office, as additional ordering information will be shared via email. Court Warming week continues on Thursday as the South Holt Knights "Pack Up." High school students are encouraged to tote their belongings in anything but a backpack. Elementary students have pajama day.
Tomorrow is our Court Warming Basketball Game! Come out and cheer on the Knights as they take on Osborn-Stewartsville. All students, staff, and community members are encouraged to "Pump it Up" by wearing black and gold and Knight gear. Go Knights!
What's Up, Knights? Surf's Up on Tuesday, February 3. All Elementary and Secondary students may wear their beachwear to school (no swimsuits, please).

Tomorrow kicks off South Holt's Court Warming Week. This year's theme is "What's Up, Knights?" All students are invited to "Dress Up" on Monday. Elementary students may wear a costume to school. Junior High and High School students have a choice of dressing up in their best formal wear, or sporting a costume. Here's to a great week of celebrating being a KNIGHT!
