The Kiwanis Club hosted the annual Senior Awards luncheon on Wednesday and recognized 12 of our seniors for their accomplishments. Nine seniors maintained a 3.5 GPA or higher: Haylee Counts, Katherine Mendenhall, Brayden Hustead, Cole Medsker, Kale Kerns, Zachary Schuman, Rachael Knapp , Hayes Weller, and Jack Kridler. Senior Music awards were presented to Courtney Jennings and Anna Clough. Senior Athlete awards were presented to Cole Medsker and Mylee Prussman. The Boy Scouts were also present to award a Scout scholarship to Kale Kerns. The Kiwanis Club gave three $1000 scholarships this year. The recipients were Kale Kerns, Katie Mendenhall, and Cole Medsker. We are so grateful for the support that the community gives to our students and the school.
These Knights received Golden Grams this month for doing great things at South Holt. Great job, Knights!

South Holt R-I High School is celebrating our student athletes. Student athletes in grades 9-12, along with their families, are invited to the South Holt Athletic Banquet on Sunday, May 11 at 6:00 p.m. The banquet will be held in the main gym. South Holt Family Pods took a brain break from testing this afternoon to enjoy some minute to win it games. There was a lot of laughter as students and staff built connections across all grade levels.
The last day to preorder a 7th-12th grade 2024-25 yearbook is Monday, April 28th. This is the only way to guarantee you will get a yearbook! Last year we sold out of yearbooks. Yearbooks cost $50. Contact Mrs. Kerns with questions.
The HS baseball team has played 4 games since last Thursday. The team won over Nodaway Valley last Thursday and then had 1 win and 2 losses in the Walk Off Wood Bat Tournament on Friday and Saturday. The baseball team plays again tonight at home against Northeast Nodaway at 5:00pm. There is no JV tonight so the game tonight is varsity only. Go Knights!
State assessments will be administered to students in grades 3-8 this week. Students will test in the morning. Elementary students are encouraged to bring a small snack (granola bar, fruit, etc.) to have during testing. This week's schedule is below. Please work to ensure students have a good night's sleep and a good breakfast prior to testing.
South Holt baseball loses 13-5 to Polo on Friday in the W.O.W. Tournament. Knights play again at 9am today (Saturday) at Mo West. Then the boys play again at 1pm or 3pm today (Saturday). Go Knights!

Reminder....Standardized testing begins at South Holt on Tuesday, April 15th. Students in 5th Grade and 8th Grade will take MAP Science tests. Please make sure your Chromebook is charged up and get a good night's sleep. Let's go Knights!
Students taking Personal Finance gave speeches on a financial topic (investing, mortgages, insurance, etc.). They also participated in mock interviews to prepare themselves for future job interviews.
State testing begins this week for all 5th and 8th grade students. Students in 5th and 8th grades will take the Science MAP Test on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings this week. Please make sure all students get a good night's sleep, eat breakfast, and arrive to school on time. Fifth grade students may bring a small snack to have on testing days.
