South Holt will host a "Meet the Knights" community event on Thursday, August 25th at 6:30pm in the main gym. This event will introduce the student athletes for HS football, HS volleyball, HS cross country, JH football, and JH volleyball. All guest are welcome to attend!
Reminder: Today and tomorrow (8/22 and 8/23) are early dismissals at 1:00. Elementary students not riding the bus will be dismissed on the elementary side of the building. Parents utilizing the circle drive should remain in their vehicles during pick up to avoid traffic congestion in the pick up line. Please contact the elementary office with any questions. South Holt Athletics is seeking someone to assume the volunteer position of maintaining the watering of the football field. Duties would include setting the timers for daily watering during the dry, summer months; inspecting irrigation system for leaks; winterizing the system for the winter months and communicating with the South Holt Agriculture Teacher of duties students can help with. Other grade levels.....Monday, August 15th - Sophomores and Freshmen from 9am-12pm. A completed sports physical is needed to practice. For the first time, 6th graders can compete in JH sports. Info was shared with 6th graders in May. Those students interested in South Holt JH football can pick up their helmet on Friday, August 12th at 10:00am-11:30am. First practice is on August 15th at 2:30pm-4:00pm. Players must have their sports physicals on file to practice. Please bring tennis shoes, football cleats, and water bottles to practice. Also bring inhalers for those athletes that have that medical documentation.

The South Holt R-I School District is accepting applications for an Elementary/Special Education Paraprofessional for the 2022-2023 school year. Candidates must have a high school diploma. Sixty college credit hours are preferred, but not required. Paraprofessionals may be asked to take the Paraprofessional or ParaPro Assessment (MEGA). Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, resume, and completed support staff application electronically to Kristen Mendenhall at mendenhallk@southholtr1.com.
