February 16th thru the 22nd is National FFA Week at South Holt. The school has been participating in dress-up days and FFA is sponsoring several activities. Tuesday was Collegiate Apparel Day. South Holt students were encouraged to wear clothing that represented their college or university of choice. Wednesday was planned as America Day, however winter weather interrupted school as well as the plans for the day. Thursday was Flannel/Hillbilly Day and Drive Your Tractor to School Day. FFA also sponsored a Toy Tractor Show. Friday is designated as Blue and Gold Day. Students are encouraged to wear FFA T-shirts or the colors Blue and Gold to honor the FFA organization. Also planned for Friday is the FFA Petting Zoo, which will be held in the shop area of the Ag Room. FFA plans to have a dog, calf, chicken, and rabbit with the possible addition of a goat and a pig. South Holt Elementary students will have the opportunity to take their turn petting the animals during their class's scheduled time. The FFA Breakfast planned for this weekend has been postponed. The event will be reschedule fora later date. The South Holt Chapter of Future Farmers of America is sponsored by Jessica Aeschliman.
