Students entering 8th grade are required to have a Tdap booster (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis) and a Meningitis vaccine.

Students entering 12th grade are required to have a Meningitis vaccine. If they have already received a Meningitis vaccine, another one is required if the first dose was given prior to age 16.  These seniors will then have all needed vaccines for college entrance.

Immunization information regarding vaccines for Kindergarten entrance was sent home with students that are enrolled in the South Holt preschool.

Missouri state law requires students to be immunized against vaccine -preventable diseases. Proof of immunizations is required on or before August 16, 2017 for school entrance; (first day of school).

Important Immunization Changes for 2016-17 School Year

South Holt R-1 Health Services wants to inform parents of important additions to the Missouri State Immunization Law for the 2016-17 school year.

Students entering 8th grade will be required to have a Meningococcal (MCV) vaccine, in addition to their Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis ) booster.

Students entering 12th grade will also be required to have a Meningococcal (MCV) vaccine. 12th grade students who have already received a MCV will be required to have a second dose if the first dose was given prior to age 16.

Parents of Kindergartners for the 2016-17 school year, who are enrolled in the schools preschool were sent large postcards informing them of needed vaccines for kindergarten entrance.

7th and 11th grade parents were mailed letters informing them of the above information, that will affect them for the next school year. Parents of current 12th grade students were also mailed a copy of their immunization record for them to keep, as they are needed for college, jobs, etc.

Missouri School Immunization Law prohibits children who are not in compliance with the immunization law from attending school.

Proof of completed immunizations are required before school entrance on the first day of school,  August 17, 2016 for the 2016-17 school year.
